Mt. Sopris Blessing
Sun’s early rise warms the new face,
Forever greeted by stillness – no morning wind,
Almighty God, has authority to rescind.
Majestic twined peaks of Elk rise on high,
Lively, young clouds to the west – linger close by…
Shepherds of life, they provide for what’s best,
Our Lord wielding a wet paintbrush, splashes with scarlet
and fire.
The prairie flowers – now VERY alive,
Rejoice together – quite higher.
Life marches skyward for those who’ve wept,
Blessed by friends and family and alpine meadows
windswept.
